Ocularis Basic Certification ("Ocularis Boot Camp")

This certification provides our Channel Partners with the knowledge and skills to be able to install and support Ocularis. It includes full hands on installation and configuration of Ocularis Base, Ocularis Administrator and our award winning Ocularis Client.

Students obtain hands-on experience and perform labs in configuring and managing cameras, user accounts, video walls, events and video exporting.

This training provides broad spectrum certification in the Ocularis ES, Ocularis CS and Ocularis IS feature sets This intense course provides the user with a complete Ocularis experience.

Prerequisites: a full working knowledge of computers and IP video basics.

Unless specified otherwise, training at all locations begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 5:00 PM. We strongly recommend that participants flying in, arrive the night before

In order to provide the best possible training experience for our courses, all students must be well versed in the following:Intermediate to advanced computer skills

• IP adressing 
• Basic networking (how to change IP address, Firewall, Windows Services, etc). 
• Knowledge of Windows server class operating systems 
• Experience with IP camera use (e.g. how to access camera configuration) 
• Good understanding of IP video basics (compression, resolution, frame rate, etc). 
• This course assumes that students come to the training with this knowledge

Please ensure that you are well versed in these topics prior to attending any of our courses. You may refer an open sources such as Wikipedia.

Our training courses are held at state-of-the-art computer lab training facilities. Laptop computers are not required. We ask that you bring an IP camera and network switch for your use in class.

These prices apply to the Continental United States. Rates vary for non-U.S. locations.Our training offering is tiered as follows:

Channel Partner: $1,495

Non-Channel Partner: $2,495

• If the registration is cancelled within 2 days of the course start date, the full rate will be charged. 
• Registrations using an invalid or blank Dealer Registration Number are subject to cancellation and a $100 cancellation fee. 
• No refunds for no-shows. 
• OnSSI reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course at any time. OnSSI is not responsible for any additional travel or other costs incurred due to a cancelled or rescheduled class. 
• Course registrations are typically evaluated 15-20 business days prior to course start date.
• If a course shows under-enrollment, it has a high risk of being cancelled. Please register early to insure a seat.

Please also note that completion of course does not automatically qualify you to purchase OnSSI Products. The participant's company must be registered as an OnSSI Channel Partner at the time of registration to obtain Certified Channel pricing. Ocularis Basic Training The "Ocularis Boot Camp" certification provides our Channel Partners with the knowledge and skills to install Ocularis and support the full Ocularis platform. Graduating students emerge as "Ocularis Certified".

• Managing the surveillance environment with Ocularis
• Configuring Video Walls
• Managing automated events
• Failover and other Backup Considerations
• Ocularis OpenSight 
• Ocularis Best Practices and Troubleshooting

A multiple choice final exam must be completed in order to obtain certification.

Register for training using the Registration link next to the course you wish to take. You may register more than one person from the same company. Since certification training includes hands-on experience with OnSSI's software, the number of participants in each session is very limited. Because we generally reach capacity weeks before the training, we encourage you to register early to assure your participation. Participation is assured only once the listed contact person on the form receives a confirmation email. Certification is valid for two years from the date of the course for employees of Channel Partner companies. 

Do I need to be certified to purchase Ocularis PS?

Any dealer can purchase Ocularis PS but the Ocularis certification course is required for IS through ES feature sets. You will, however, benefit from taking the certification class if you are installing Ocularis PS.

Why do I need to attend a full session when I was just certified recently?

You don't need to attend the Boot Camp session if your certification is within two years of the course date. If you attended the Ocularis 101 or 201 courses, your certification is still in effect. If you've attended certification over 2 years ago, you must attend the course to be introduced to the newer modules of Ocularis. If you are Ocularis 101 certified, you still must attend the Ocularis Boot Camp training to purchase Ocularis ES.

Why doesn't OnSSI provide online training for recertification?

So many new features and functions have been added to the platform that online training would be impractical. I just want to know how to add a camera. Do I need to go to training just to do this? OnSSI will introduce a "How To" section on our website to be able to address specific topics for those seasoned technicians who simply need some assistance with the new version of Ocularis.
