ASIS International (ASIS) is the largest organization for security professionals, with more than 36,000 members worldwide. Founded in 1955, ASIS is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security professionals by developing educational programs and materials that address broad security interests, such as the ASIS Annual Seminar and Exhibits, as well as specific security topics. ASIS also advocates the role and value of the security management profession to business, the media, governmental entities, and the public. By providing members and the security community with access to a full range of programs and services, and by publishing the industry's number one magazine - Security Management - ASIS leads the way for advanced and improved security performance.
The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International (APCO) APCO International is the world's largest organization dedicated to public safety communications. We have been around since 1935 - far longer than any other public safety communications association (visit APCOHistory.org for more on APCO's 70+ year history). More than 15,000 members rely on APCO for their professional needs - from examining standards and issues to providing education, products and services.
BICSI is a professional association supporting the information transport systems (ITS) industry. ITS covers the spectrum of voice, data and video technologies. It encompasses the design, integration and installation of pathways, spaces, fiber- and copper-based distribution systems, wireless-based systems and infrastructure that supports the transportation of information and associated signaling between and among communications and information gathering devices.
The IP UserGroup USA is a dedicated Security Technology Forum providing unparalleled education on IP within Physical Security Applications. Promoting the adoption of networked products, services and solutions.
The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA) was founded in February of 2008 with the objective of promoting the interoperability of IP enabled security devices. Participating companies include leaders in the security camera, video management software, access control, system integrator segments of the market.
The PSIA is a not-for-profit open industry group which will identify existing and emerging standards relevant to the physical security industry, work to enhance them to support industry requirements, and encourage their adoption by our member companies and the industry. In addition, the group will review and vet specifications that are submitted as open standards.
ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is an open industry forum for the development of a global standard for the interface of network video products. ONVIF is committed to the adoption of network video in the security market. The ONVIF specification will ensure interoperability between network video products regardless of manufacturer.
The Security Industry Association (SIA) is a nonprofit international trade association representing electronic and physical security product manufacturers, specifiers, and service providers. SIA promotes growth and professionalism within the security industry by providing education, research, technical standards and representation and defense of its members’ interests. SIA is the sole sponsor of the International Security Conference and Exhibitions (ISC EXPOs).
