Ocularis Client - Overview

Ocularis Client (including Ocularis Client Lite) Resources

Ocularis Client is the unified user interface used under the Ocularis platform, for all operator operations.

Ocularis Client delivers a totally new level of user experience. Rather than controlling video through a fixed control panel,  and separate modes for live monitoring and playback, Ocularis Client allows interacting with live and recorded video streams.

Upon clicking (or touching, for touchscreen operation) on a camera pane, Ocularis Client’s Interactive Overlay Controls™ will appear, enabling instant investigation during playback. A different set of control will overlay for PTZ cameras, cameras equipped with 360-degree lens and other specialty cameras, providing all – and only – the functions required for that camera. Interactive overlay controls also allow changing cameras on the fly, sending a live video alert to another user, and more.

Feature Overview

  • Intuitive, touchscreen-enabled (optional) interface – no confusing control panels or menus.
  • All camera controls – and only the controls relevant to each camera - appear only upon interaction with camera as Interactive Overlay Controls™.
  • Instant Investigation™ during live monitoring - for playback, digital PTZ, optical PTZ, change cameras on-the-fly, send manual push-video alert to another Ocularis Client user, and more.
  • ‘Blank-screen’ monitoring – automatic on-event push video alerts to other users’ Ocularis Client screens.
  • Special controls are provided for parsing fixed cameras equipped with 360-degree (panamorphic) lens.
  • Multiple forensic tools, including:
    • The Time Slicer toolset: Auto-generated time interval thumbnails allow drilling down through time to identify the exact moment an event occurred. Archived searches are shortened from hours to seconds, even in high traffic areas where motion detection might not be able to detect events.
    • The Kinetic Motion Timeline: color coded to indicate periods of detected motion and recorded video, the timeline can be scaled to any desired time interval and ‘swiped’ to quickly review multiple cameras over an extended period, for an overview of the events before and after an incident.
    • Multi-parameter motion detection: Ocularis Client’s motion detection utility allows for accurate configuration of the detection parameters to match the speed and size of the moving object, selecting sampling rate, motion percentage and motion sensitivity.
    • VideoSynopsis: the Ocularis VideoSynopsis add-on (optional), uniquely embedded in Ocularis Client, creates an indexed, minutes-long clip out of hours of video.
    • Map-based navigation to cameras and camera groups with camera preview popups.
    • Video evidence database management (bookmarking) and export of evidence: segments of video for bookmarking and export are graphically selected, tagged, classified and annotated within seconds. Bookmarks are copied into a dedicated database for extended retention; video evidence is exported in a variety of formats, including AVI and multi-camera secure video database. Video export does not stop client functionality.
    • Shared Event Handling: authorized users at multiple sites are able to access, investigate and handle events directly from a dedicated event handling interface, with dual recorder/live video panes and an on-map event locator.
    • Video Wall management (optional): multiple video walls can be controlled through Ocularis Client’s one-click push video to any local or remote display.
