IP Video Surveillance Solutions for Banking and Finance
Seamless integration with security and ATM systems, central monitoring and multiple video delivery platforms for banks and financial institutions
Security of personnel, assets and information is a critical concern for banks and financial institutions. There is no room for error - even a minor breach of security can have a horrendous effect in loss of customer confidence.
The use of video surveillance has been adopted early on by banks and financial institutions. However, many still use recording mechanisms such as time-lapse VCRs or DVRs. These technologies do not allow for efficient investigation and event retrieval as they require time-consuming video searching, and have limited ability to communicate video information to remote offices as quickly desired.
Banks today are seeking more efficient ways to manage video, improve time to resolve investigations, cut costs and extend immediate video access to appropriate departments across the organization.
OnSSI's IP Video Surveillance solutions provide financial institutions with flexible access to digitally stored video of transactions from any location via the bank's existing IP network. In addition to stored video, OnSSI's Network Video Recorders (NVRs) enable instant access to real-time video for live monitoring of ATM vestibules and cash counting areas as well as fast, centralized access to distributed stored video databases.
Secure Remote Access via Multiple Clients
OnSSI's NVRs' remote access video clients make it possible for banks to control and manage surveillance at multiple branches from one central location using PC workstations connected to the network (using Ocularis Client Lite NetGuard or NetGuard-EVS) or Internet (using either the NetDVMS or NetDVR web client. OnSSI's NetSwitcher large-scale virtual matrix switch video wall management system enables monitoring and controlling cameras from multiple sites efficiently from a centralized control center, with unlimited monitors and up to 16 cameras per monitor.
Recordings can be stored at any location on the network for increased security and reliability, and accessed from any location on the network, upon strict authorization. Incidents can be investigated using the most advanced video investigation and content analysis tools, directly from the Video Clients. This allows resolving fraud and theft cases within the regulation 10-day period, saving thousands of dollars in customer credits.
Content Analytics
Advanced Content Analytics modules enable identifying specific movement patterns, unattended objects, loitering, stalled cars in front of bank branches, crowd behavior and more, from the bank's entire camera array, in real time. Once an event is detected and analyzed it can trigger any one of many actions, from audiable alerts to automatic Push Video to any user on the network.
Record Video and Voice Data
OnSSI's 100%-digital NVR solutions provides banks with the capability to capture high-quality video as well as voice recordings for use as evidence of criminal activity. All audio is recorded with a unique voice signature in the same secure database in a tamper-evident digital form, so that investigators can corroborate voice data with events on video.
Alarm Notification and Integration with Physical Security
When an alarm is triggered by an event (e.g. if movement is detected by the NVR built-in video motion detection feature), the NVR will automatically notify security or law enforcement by email, phone and/or pager. From their remote locations users can log in via a secure web browser and take control of surveillance cameras to investigate the cause of the alarm.
NetMatrix, OnSSI’s intelligent viewing add-on to NetDVMS and NetDVR, video of event can be pushed automatically or manually, on event, from any camera to any monitor on the network or internet, as a popup on the client’s PC monitor. For example, upon detection of an exception, a live camera view will be pushed to a police station, automatically or with one click of a mouse.
OnSSI’s NVRs were designed for seamless integration with physical security systems, such as contact closure, access control and fire panels. Events detected by such systems can easily be configured to trigger recording, alerting or pushing video on-event.
NetDVMS's powerful APIs enable receiving events generated by financial information systems such as ATMs and teller stations. This allows banks to capture transaction-numbered video from ATMs to identify fraudulent use or resolve any disputes connected with ATM useage. It would be possible, for example, to retrieve video from all branches for transactions associated with a specific ATM card by using a quick and easy request to the OnSSI system.
In addition to improving safety, banks can use digital video footage to evaluate peak hours of activity at each branch. This has been especially helpful for management to make the best use of tellers through optimum scheduling.
Wireless Surveillance
With OnSSI's NVRs, police and security personnel aren't limited to viewing events from fixed remote locations. By logging into the bank's network using an encrypted wireless connection, they can view live digital video on PDAs, cellphones or laptops as they are approach the banks premises and take full control over PTZ cameras. With OnSSI it's actually possible to view a robbery attempt in real-time, identify the robber and apprehend him before he even leaves the bank.
Training
Video is also effective in training employees and thereby improving overall performance. Meanwhile staff are also empowered with the ability to remotely monitor the front reception desk and keep a check on customer waiting queues –without leaving their offices.
