From NVR to PSIM Ocularis expands the role of the IP video system from strictly video surveillance to a full-fledged, video-centric PSIM (Physical Security Information Management) software platform.
Ocularis provides recording and video management functionality as well as the management and coordination of physical security and other enterprise systems. Ocularis also provides a framework that enables and facilitates the integration of 3rd party DVR, NVR (Network Video Recorder) and VMS (Video Management Systems) solutions, along with numerous video intelligence and physical security applications, enabling the distribution and delivery of composite alerts and shared events. The Ocularis Client is the industry’s most advanced, intuitive interface, providing enhanced user productivity and a superior investigative toolset.
Assuring a seamless migration path to future expansion and added functionality, Ocularis is a completely scalable, open-architecture, non-proprietary solution. Users are able to integrate best-of-breed cameras and add-on applications, while running on off-the-shelf hardware, preserving their existing physical security investment while reducing Total Cost of Ownership.
Ocularis DS is designed for multi-site, multi-server, medium and large enterprise environments. It provides the ability to record and manage video along with physical security, access control, video content analytics, radiation detection, and other enterprise applications.
Ocularis DS’ unique investigative tools enable unsurpassed real-time and forensic analysis of composite events; hours of video can be reviewed within minutes through the highly intuitive, touchscreen-enabled client interface.
Ocularis DS Base provides system-wide user and event management, shared event handling, push video alerting and event correlation. Additional Platform components include:
- Ocularis Recorder - NetDVMS – built in to Ocularis DS is OnSSI’s market-leading, multi-server, multi-site NetDVMS, providing superior recording and archiving functionality. Its non-proprietary, open-architecture technology allows running on off-the-shelf hardware, and connecting practically any IP and analog camera by all leading manufacturers.
- Ocularis Add-Ons (optional) include Ocularis VideoWall, Ocularis VideoSynopsis and Ocularis Analytics, as well as additional functionality and applications.
- Ocularis 3rd-Party Integration - leveraging the Ocularis SDK (Software Development Kit), Ocularis DS allows the integration of 3rd-party access control, DVR, NVR and VMS systems, radiation detection, and other physical security applications.
- Ocularis Client, OnSSI’s intuitive, unified user interface for all Ocularis solutions, provides access to video, management of alerts, comprehensive investigative capabilities, and shared event handling.

A New Level of Human Engineering Ocularis Client delivers the most advanced, intuitive, unified client application to access video and event information. Ocularis Client’s map-based, touchscreenenabled (optional) interface provides immediate access to unlimited cameras connected to multiple servers at multiple sites, which can be pushed to any monitor or video wall in the network. It presents, upon interaction with any camera pane, all of the controls and functions relevant to the current camera and mode. With its intuitive, touchscreen-optimized interface, and easy to use investigation tools, Ocularis Client requires only minutes of training to full proficiency.
Comprehensive Investigative Capability The analysis of events is greatly enhanced with multiple tools for real-time and forensic investigation. The Time Slicer toolset, Ocularis Analytics and Ocularis VideoSynopsis enable the immediate detection, investigation and bookmarking of critical events, and the export of critical event information.
Seamless Event Handling Workflow Ocularis DS simplifies the entire event handling process. Once an event is generated within the Ocularis DS framework, multiple tools for alerting, accessing video of events, forensics, bookmarking, and exporting evidence shorten the entire event handling process from hours to minutes. Composite events, responding to specific and multiple-source detections are automatically sent to authorized users.
Full Compatibility, Easy Migration Ocularis DS is designed to assure an easy and convenient migration for existing OnSSI customers. Ocularis DS incorporates OnSSI’s market leading NetDVMS, providing advanced recording and video management functionality. The Ocularis Client is the same core client utilized with OnSSI’s market leading NVR and VMS recording and video management systems. Ocularis DS provides a pathway for existing OnSSI users, as well as other vendor legacy system users, to realize the benefits of Ocularis.
